Nancy Bocskor Teaches Fundraising 101

Internationally recognized consultant and author Nancy Bocskor presented a fundraising workshop sponsored by NewPower PAC on July 22, 2017. More than 40 potential candidates, community volunteers, and nonprofit leaders gathered at DeKalb County’s Maloof Auditorium for the half-day interactive seminar followed by networking lunch and a question-and-answer session.

Ms.Bocskor has traveled throughout the world, teaching candidates how to win elections and to create change in their communities. She was pleased to be back in Georgia, where she began her political career working with Newt Gingrich when he was a freshman congressman.

She had these comments about her work with NewPower PAC:

I loved how NewPower PAC brought together such an accomplished group of men and women who are already serving their communities — and are ready to take the next step in public service.

Fundraising can intimidate many people, so I talk about how to build spheres of influence. Candidates must make personal connections with donors so research is key. Successful fundraisers can tell a compelling story where the potential donor is the star. As I remind audiences, there are 513,000 elected officials in the U.S. We are a citizen democracy, and I’m thrilled so many participants are ready to serve. Thanks for inviting me along on the journey!

NewPower PAC offers training and other services to candidates and potential candidates in support of encouraging women to participate in civic life and to elect qualified women to office in Georgia.  For more information about NewPower PAC’s training, please contact us.
