Laura Denton, Esq.

Laura Denton joined NewPowerPAC as a volunteer in 2016 and now serves as a board member.  She is a partner at a labor and employment law firm in Atlanta, Georgia where she represents private and government organizations in employment matters ranging from cases brought by individuals to broad-scale class and collective actions. She assists clients in federal and state employment litigation cases and provides day-to-day counseling to her clients on a wide variety of employment issues.

Before working in Atlanta, Laura practiced law at a labor and employment law firm in Nashville, Tennessee.  And immediately after graduating from Mercer Law School, she clerked for U.S. District Court Judge Clay Land in the Middle District of Georgia.

In addition to her work with NewPowerPAC, Laura currently serves as the Secretary for the Mercer Law Young Alumni Council and is a 2018 Georgia Super Lawyers Georgia Rising Star. Laura and her husband Alec live in the City of Decatur, where they are active in the community and work to raise awareness of the importance of political involvement in their neighborhood.

Laura graduated first in her class from Mercer Law School in 2008, where she was the Georgia Legal Survey Editor on the Mercer Law Review and a moot court participant.  She received her B.A. in political science and B.S. in psychology from the University of Georgia in 2005.
