NewPowerPAC

OUR STORY

A women's political action committee

NewPowerPAC was founded in 2013 by a small group of women appalled by the low number of women elected or appointed to Georgia political office. Nationally, Georgia ranks 49th in this regard according to the Institute for Women’s Policy Research, with:

  1. ONE woman in the Georgia Congressional delegation
  2. NO women ever elected from Georgia to the U.S. Senate
  3. NO women in statewide elected Executive Offices
  4. FEW women in county and municipal elected or appointed positions.

In addition, the 2012 Georgia General Assembly was 77% male. Our mission is achieve a critical mass of diverse women in the legislature and other offices.
